The Experience

I write a poem everyday about my experiences. These experiences range from quiet moments in a cafe to late night thoughts about existence itself. Everyday is different and brings about new perspectives. I find that reflecting on the day through a creative outlet allows me to dig deep and search for inner growth. I was not born on this earth to compete with others, instead I was placed here to gain new perspectives and strive to be better than I was the day before. Although somedays that is easier said than done, my poetry allows me to see my own growth and even face my own shadows. So I invite you to come back everyday and reflect with me, perhaps you’ll learn somthing new about yourself.

portrait of me

I admit I haven’t made art in what feels like forever. I started this piece right after graduating from SAIC back in May of 2025. I spent the last year battling myself trying to find the motivation and discipline to follow my art career. Although I am still working on the discipline, I have rediscovered my motivation and love for the craft. So I finished the piece I started over a year ago. A self portrait displaying what it means to lose oneself, proving that you can find yourself again even if that means dissecting and dismemebering everything that you thought you were.

i ripped my heart out of my chest
and you stomped on it while it was still in my hands
i wrapped myself in gauze
and my fingers turned into claws
as i dismembered myself
erasing everything i once was
do you know what it’s like not to know oneself?
judging only based on my flaws

covered in my own blood
hoping the room i’m locked in doesn’t flood
did you ever stop to think how your actions would hurt me?
or was that always your plan to make sure i could never see?

i can see clearly now
the portrait you’ve painted of me
